Markham Springs is a beautiful recreation area located on Black River 3 miles west of Williamsville Missouri. Markham contains many springs, a camping area, a rock house you can rent, beautiful trails, and much more!
The Rock House
The vacation home, commonly known as the Markham House or the Fuchs House, can sleep up to 14 guests. Downstairs there is a fireplace, a kitchen area, dining area, a living room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. Please bring your own towels, blankets, sheets, and pillows. The kitchen is completely furnished but you will need to bring your paper products. The dining room table can sit up to 10 people. Three bed rooms have queen or double beds, one has two sets of bunk beds, and one has two twin beds. Around the house, a hiking trail leads to Eagles Bluff that overlooks Black River. The Camping Area
Located at Markham Springs, the campground has single electric sites available for $17 and double electric sites for $34. Primitive sites are $10. Campsites can be reserved. In the electric loop there is a trail leading to the top of Eagles Bluff! (Eagles Bluff overlooks Black River) Trails in the primitive loops lead to the river! Camping season is May through September. There are trails within the recreation area that lead to six different springs. Markham is Forest Service owned. Fishing is allowed in the river. You can float and canoe down Black River. Bring your boats and access the river at a boat ramp within the recreation area. Questions about camping or reserving?
